Day 3 – Kaapsehoop

Today we stay in Kaapsehoop and just explore the place. After last night’s overindulgence at Bohemian Groove Cafe, we skip breakfast and decide to go for a walk to Battery Creek Falls. The weather is perfect with a light breeze. We are amazed by the different rock formations.

After returning from our walk it’s almost midday and we are off to the local market. It’s not very big but everything is quality handmade goods. We buy some gifts for the kids (big and small) and by now we are ready to eat again. Nothing like a spoon cake and an Asian veg salad. After lunch, we explored the rest of the village.

Our plans for the day included doing the downhill scooter ride but sitting at Salvador drinking brannas and coke seemed like a much better idea and way less stressful. This stuff is growing on me.

We have a dinner invitation from old friends, Nelene and Koos later in the evening so we return to Misty Hideaway to rest a bit. As it is right next to Bohemian Groove Cafe I can lie on the grass in the late afternoon sun listening to live music.

That evening we walk over the Nelene and Koos’ place for a nice dinner, wine, and conversation. It was past 10 pm when we decided that it is time for bed. We’re not planning a super early start tomorrow but I want to get some packing done before dozing off.
