With a long weekend coming up on the 16th of June we decided to do a short 4-day trip. We are planning to leave for Pilgrim’s Rest (Pelgrimsrus) on the morning of the 16th, sleepover in the local hotel, and then ride to Kaapsehoop on the 17th where we will stay for two nights. We will then take the long way home via different conservation areas in De Kaap Valley on the 19th. Winter is here so it should be nice and fresh. As always we will stick to backroads and take in some nice mountain passes. Casper’s Nek Pass is on the cards and it should be beautiful as it follows the Blyde River all the way to Pilgrim’s Rest. Mount Carmel Pass will add some happiness on the way to Kaapsehoop. Our intended route can be seen on the tracking page.
